ALBUM DESCRIPTION
The main idea of this album is to search for a new and original approach to music inheritance of Serbia and Balkans in general, that is to search for its "new reading". Widely known ethno songs, in a new arrangement, stylized for the guitar and cello, are provoking a special excitement and represent a unique artistic performance.
Expressive playing on the cello and harmonized accompaniment of the acoustic guitar create a characteristic atmosphere in which the forgotten melodies are revived.
The recognizable style and carefully chosen repertoire have quickly the sympathy of the audience, and artistic circles as well as music critics have valued this unusual music concept.

WHAT WE THINK ABOUT THIS ALBUM
Listening to a duo Moderato's album "Dance For Two" is like being slowly enveloped in a dream of medieval times, incense-heavy air, and distant exotic lands full of shadows and beauty.

It starts with the haunting title track "Dance For Two" - an ethnic fusion composition, that is soaked in a dreamlike atmosphere. It's followed by the acoustic instrumental ballad "Bojarka", which transports you into Spanish lands. Next are few tracks "Zonke Mori Zonke", "Sevdah Kolo", "Svilen Konac" and "Vranjanski Cocek", which add a peppy Eastern European flavor to the album.

A more contemplative air enters the album in its second half - "Lament", "Over Belgrade" and "Cardas" are minimalist ballads that mourn and marvel at the sound of worship ("it's like asking yourself - in your heart, in your soul, did you find peace there?"), while "Love Secret" is a sprightly Spanish-flavored instrumental . The exploration continues with "Arabesque O" - Middle-Eastern beauty.

The journey ends with the chill-out remix of title track "Dance For Two" - beautiful setting while cooking, relaxing, doing chores, entertaining, etc.

duo Moderato has a magical touch with music - they can wrap you in velvety dreams, walk you through a medieval cathedral, dance you through a spice-filled Middle-Eastern/Eastern European market and rock you to sleep in an ivy-filled ruin.

"Dance For Two" is a vibrant, almost painfully lovely album that drips with medieval-ish splendor and lots of Spanish/Eastern European/Middle-Eastern beauty. Utterly haunting.
