BIOGRAPHY
THE REVENGE PROJECT, one of the young claimants to the throne of the melodic death metal in Bulgaria, was founded in 2000 as a side project of several musicians, well known for their work in some Burgas-based bands. A few months later the formation was completed with the joining of Deimoz (guitars) and G. McManus (vocals, KOROZY). The first appearance of the quintette was in Shumen in May 2001, but soon after Detcho (bass) and McManus (vox) left, replaced by Astaroth and MaxPain respectively. Since then the band is in persistent line-up. The debut demo "No Chance To See The Sun Again" (2002) was recorded at the bass player's home studio, strengthened by the first video of the band (to the song "Anger To Dwell") and numerous live shows with DEMONISM, DARKMOON RISING, HYPERBOREA, KOROZY, etc. In the beginning of 2003 THE REVENGE PROJECT entered the Astaroth Studio again, where they started the recordings for their debut album. The band made its first international appearance at Taksirat Festival in Skopje, Macedonia in December 2003. At the same time, mainly as a result of the amazing professionalism, demonstrated during the concerts, the musicians got an invitation to be the only warm-up act to play a gig with the German thrash metal legends SODOM. The show, taken place on the 27th of February 2004 in Sofia, contributed for the immense growth of the quintette's popularity in the metal surroundings. Meanwhile they released their second demo cannonade, "The End Is Coming...", containing raw versions of four tracks from the forthcoming album. At the end of July THE REVENGE PROJECT shared the stage with the Polish death metal idols VADER, presenting their new bass-player Belfegor. In this line-up the band played on the Tattoo Fest in Varna in August '04. After that Belfegor left to concentrate over his work in REUNION and SEVERIA. Astaroth got back and the band had concerts in Burgas, Sofia and Varna, respectively in the middle and end of December 2004 and the middle of February 2005. On the 24th May 2005 their debut album "The Dawn Of Nothingness" was officially released by "Stain Studio", promoted on the concert of the Finnish band CATAMENIA, whose support were THE REVENGE PROJECT. The band also shot their second videoclip to the song "The Growing Mirror". At the same time Astaroth finally decided to leave the band to concentrate over the work in his studio. Almost immediately a replacement was found - Dancho (Sevar) from SUMATOHA, who has also played for a while with KOROZY. In this line-up the band played in Kavarna as a support of the legendary German thrashers DESTRUCTION (26 August 2005) and in "Zona 51" club in Varna with Cynicism (22 October 2005). In 2006 the band had many concerts around Bulgaria, including a support to PAUL DI'ANNO (1 July 2006) and CATAMENIA (10 October 2006).
