ALBUM DESCRIPTION
SILUET are a five-piece rock band currently based in Sofia, Bulgaria. They are touring frequently around Europe to perform their unique and explosive mixture of classic rock and roll and a bunch of other styles variating from blues and progressive rock to Bulgarian folklore rhythms.
Their memorable sound combines beautiful bluesy female vocals, electric violin, a Jimi-like guitar sound and a drummer with a hard-hitting playing style. The vocal talent and solid stage presence of the two front-women - Maria Dyulgerova on bass and Mariana Dobreva on accoustic guitar and keyboards, along with the instrumental skills of the other members of the band - Mihaela Nenova on the violin, Bogdan Dimitrov on the electric guitar and Martin Profirov on drums - are all at the heart of their thrilling live shows filled with raw vintage rock and roll power merging into more gentle passages - to much acclaim from the audience.
If you like a soulful style of hard rock, then this album is the one to listen to. "Siluet" definitely make their mark with their own easily recognizable style of hard rock. There is a great mix of styles of track on the album, from slower paced ballads, to heavier rockers with some acoustic stuff thrown in as well. Its an excellent result. The vocal talent and solid stage presence of the two front-women - Maria Dyulgerova on bass and Mariana Dobreva on acoustic guitar put everything into the lyrics and it gives all the songs on the album that classic factor. Not to overlook the rest of the group, Bogdan Dimitrov is an excellent guitarist with quite a bluesy and often calming style to his playing. Martin Profirov is also pretty underrated as a drummer. Mihaela Nenova is promising violinist and add special shade on Siluet's music.
"The Road" is a great debut album. It is a prime example of laid back and yet guitar-driven classic rock of the 1970s. Whether you're a vintage rock-and-roller or you're a younger fan looking for some unadulterated and raw 70's rock, this is an excellent choice.
